Norfolk Court demolition – the end of an era for Laurieston-Gorbals

On Sunday morning (8 May 2016) 5 Norfolk Court was demolished. This was the last of the high rise blocks in what was once the Laurieston Gorbals Comprehensive Redevelopment Area to go. Assemble – Baltic Street Adventure Playground

Last night, Assemble, a ‘direct action’ architectural collective won the Turner prize for their work in urban regeneration in Toxteth Liverpool. They are the first ‘non-artists’ to win the prize.
